With the license check using a trial license, I noticed that a network request must be performed for the license to validate. If the network is unavailable you get a "No Such Host Is Known" error message in an exception. Is this protocol only done to check the trial license date or will there need to be network calls for a paid license as well?

It's only for the trial license.
